MMP Peptide Substrates
Matrix metalloproteinases family
Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are a family of highly homologous protein-degrading zinc dependent endopeptidases.
This family currently includes more than 25 members that can be divided into collagenases (MMP-1, 8, 13, 18), gelatinases (MMP-2 and 9), stromelysins (MMP-3, 10, 19), matrilysins (MMP-7, 11, 26), and the membrane-type MMPs (MMP-14 to 17, 24, 25).
Role of MMPs
MMPs are important in many normal biological processes including embryonic development, angiogenesis, and wound healing, as well as in pathological processes such as inflammation, cancer, and tissue destruction.
MMPs collectively cleave most, if not all, of the constituents of the extracellular matrix (ECM) and are involved in the breakdown and remodeling of many tissues and organs. Each MMP has preferred substrates, but a same substrate can usually be cleaved by more than one MMP.

We support advances in MMP researches by providing a unique collection of MMP substrates. Besides classical colorimetric substrates, proprietary dye/quencher FRET pairs allow us to propose high-quality fluorescent peptides.
