Biotin-labelled oligonucleotides can be used to link the oligonucleotide to streptavidin-protein conjugates, streptavidin affinity columns, or labelled streptavidin. Attachment of a biotin molecule to the 3’ terminus can also be used to prevent 3’ exonuclease digestion and 3’ extension during amplification reactions
dR-Biotin is a proprietary monomer containing a 6-carbon atom spacer. It allows the synthesis of oligonucleotides containing successive molecules of biotin anywhere in the sequence or on either terminus. Each label is linked to the deoxyribose via a 6-carbon atom spacer. Each dR-Biotin can also be separated by a spacer (usually HEG).
